KFC Recipe to make you a brazillionaire

The exact recipe for KFC’s Original Recipe fried chicken is a closely guarded trade secret, known by only a few individuals within the company. However, the general ingredients and preparation methods for making a similar style of fried chicken have been widely speculated and attempted by home cooks. Here’s a basic recipe that tries to replicate the flavors of KFC-style fried chicken:

Ingredients:

For the Chicken:

  • 4 cups vegetable oil, for frying
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon celery salt
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried mustard
  • 1 tablespoon white pepper
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces

For the Marinade:

  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the buttermilk and egg to create the marinade. Add the chicken pieces to the mixture, ensuring they are all well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
  2. In a separate large mixing bowl, combine the flour, paprika, basil, oregano, celery salt, garlic powder, onion powder, dried mustard, white pepper, salt, dried thyme, and black pepper. Mix the dry ingredients thoroughly.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large, deep skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. You want the oil to reach about 350-375°F (175-190°C).
  4. Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing any excess to drip off, and then coat each piece thoroughly with the seasoned flour mixture. Press the flour mixture onto the chicken to ensure it adheres well.
  5. Carefully place the chicken pieces into the hot oil, being cautious not to overcrowd the pan. Fry the chicken in batches, if necessary, to maintain the oil’s temperature.
  6. Fry the chicken for approximately 15-20 minutes, turning the pieces occasionally, until they are golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature of the chicken should reach 165°F (74°C).
  7. Remove the fried chicken from the oil and drain it on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  8. Serve your homemade fried chicken hot and enjoy!

While this recipe may capture some of the essence of KFC-style fried chicken, it’s important to note that the precise combination of seasonings and preparation techniques used by KFC remains a well-guarded secret. Therefore, the taste may not be an exact replica of KFC’s Original Recipe, but it’s still delicious in its own right.
